Big Five Foods was founded to change this reality. We create fortified, delicious, and affordable meals that deliver 73.9% more nutrition than leading competitors — lab-tested and proudly developed in Africa for Africa. Our products (porridges, soya mince, OnePot meals, and soups) are designed for African conditions: 24-month shelf life, no refrigeration needed, and ready in minutes.

We don’t just feed — we educate and empower. Through school feeding programmes, community nutrition education, and micro-franchise opportunities, we are building stronger families and creating real economic opportunities across the continent.

Our name is inspired by Africa’s legendary Big Five animals — the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo — powerful symbols of strength, resilience and majesty. Just as these animals represent the enduring power of our continent, Big Five Foods stands as a symbol of strength in the fight against hunger.

Proudly South African and proudly African, we are headquartered in KwaZulu-Natal and rapidly expanding our operations, with new facilities currently being established in Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Mauritius.
